At First Glance

At first glance, this looks like a photo of a family celebrating.

Me in my leopard print fancy pajamas. My baby girl jumping up and down. My son grinning from ear to ear. My dad leaning in, trying to see the numbers on my phone.

But to me, this photo is so much more.

It's the moment three years of hard work, heartbreak, hope, and faith all came together.

This campaign wasn't built by one person. It was built by a community of people who love Chandler and believe our city deserves leaders who listen first, show up consistently, and remember that this job is about service, not status.

I will never take that trust for granted.

To my family, thank you for sacrificing so much so I could chase this dream. Thank you for the late dinners, the missed weekends, the countless conversations about policy, and for loving me through both the highs and the lows.

To my friends, volunteers, donors, neighbors, and supporters, thank you for believing in me every step of the way. We experienced the disappointment of 2024 together. We questioned ourselves. We learned. We grew. We got back up. And today, we get to celebrate together.

This victory belongs to all of us.

And to those who placed your trust in another candidate, I want you to know something.

I see you.

I know every vote comes with hope. Hope that your city will be safer. Hope that your neighborhood will be cared for. Hope that your family will be heard. We may have marked different names on our ballots, but we all want Chandler to continue being a city we're proud to call home.

That common ground is where I intend to lead.

I am your councilmember too.

Whether you voted for me, voted for someone else, or chose not to vote this time, I will work just as hard to earn your trust. That's what public service should look like. Representation isn't reserved for the people who supported you. It's a responsibility to every single resident.

For more than three years, I've ended conversations by saying, "I just want to do the work."

Today, for the first time, I get to say those words officially.

Now... it's time to do the work.

As I promised from the very beginning, I will be an Advocate for the People. I'll listen before I speak. I'll ask hard questions. I'll make decisions based on what's best for Chandler, even when they aren't the easiest. And I'll never forget that every vote I cast represents thousands of neighbors who have placed their trust in me.

This picture wasn't taken at a watch party or a ballroom.

It was taken in my kitchen after one very long, very hot Election Day. I had already changed into my favorite "wear them once in a while" pajamas. My immediate family gathered around my phone, waiting for the first results to come in.

No speeches.

No stage.

Just the people who have carried me through every step of this journey.

Honestly, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Chandler.

Thank you for believing that leadership can still be rooted in kindness, hard work, and service.
