About Me
I didn’t set out to run for office. I set out to serve my community.
I’m Cicely Rocha-Miller, and Chandler is home.
Like so many people here, my life is built around family, neighbors, schools, small businesses, and community spaces. I’ve spent years working alongside people who care deeply about where they live and want their voices to matter.
Over time, I kept hearing the same thing from residents across Chandler: “I love Chandler and I want to keep it that way.”
That stuck with me.
What guides me
I lead with empathy, integrity, and a deep respect for the people who call Chandler home.
I believe:
Listening is just as important as speaking
Community input should shape community decisions
Local government should feel human and accessible
These values aren’t political. They’re personal.
Long before I ever considered running for City Council, I was already involved in my community.
I’ve worked with small business owners trying to navigate regulations and stay afloat. I’ve partnered with nonprofits and volunteers to bring people together. I’ve served on neighborhood boards and helped organize community events that strengthen connection and trust.
What I learned is simple:
When leadership listens, communities thrive. When it doesn’t, people disengage.
I couldn’t ignore that…
Showing up has always been part of who I am
Leadership isn’t about titles. It’s about responsibility.
I’m not a career politician. I’m a problem-solver, a collaborator, and someone who believes local government should work for the people it serves.
My professional background has taught me how to manage budgets, work with diverse teams, and make thoughtful decisions with real consequences. Those skills matter at the city level, where every decision affects neighborhoods, safety, and quality of life.
I believe good leadership means asking questions, listening carefully, and being willing to do the hard work, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Why City Council, and why now
Chandler is growing, and with that comes both opportunity and responsibility. We need leadership that:
• Protects neighborhoods while planning thoughtfully for the future
• Keeps police, fire, and emergency services strong and supported
• Makes it easier for small businesses to start and thrive
• Welcomes responsible growth that respects Chandler’s character
• Listens to residents and values community input
I’m running because I believe Chandler deserves leaders who are present, accessible, and accountable, not just during elections, but every day.
This campaign is about all of us
I’m not running alone. This campaign is powered by neighbors, volunteers, small business owners, first responders, and residents who believe Chandler is worth showing up for.
If you care about the future of our city, there’s a place for you here.
